FINANCIAL BLUES

MONEY IS SCARCE AS CAN BE
OUR WALLETS AND PURSES ARE JUST AS EMPTY
THESE DIFFICULT TIMES ARE TAKING A TOLL ON US
MAKING OUR LIVES ONE BIG FUSS
WE HANG ON TO HOPE
LIKE A NEVER ENDING ROPE
WONDERING WHEN IS A CHANGE GOING TO COME
REALIZING NOW THAT LIFE ISN'T ALL THAT FUN
AS A FAMILY WE ARE TRYING TO KEEP FOOD ON THE TABLE
IT'S HARD ENOUGH KNOWING THAT WE ARE BEING LABELED
CAN'T WAIT UNTIL THESE FINANCIAL BLUES ARE IN THE PAST
WISHING INSTEAD THAT THE GOOD TIMES WILL COME AND FOREVER LAST

OUR COUNTRY'S TURMOIL

Here we go again

No peace among our neighbors

Only fighting instead

A prolonged war

Never ending

Constantly killing our soldiers

Free them bring them back

Leave our enemies alone

We're being accused

Of stirring up trouble in their land

Peace is what we need

In the world today

However confusion takes over

So I have to pray

May top leaders decide our faith

Because the war ending

Has been a long enough wait

THE KILLER SWINE H1N1

This flu has creeped on us

Killing more than enough

Protecting ourself from this epidemic

At first was our only cure

Wearing face masks

And washing and santizing hands was a must

Fear took over us

God must have knew

Because He made the shot

In this we trusted

Happy were a people

When it came to this flu

The killer swine

Surprisingly claimed

More than just a few

LIFE

Life is what you make it
And not how you take it
It's like a roller coaster
Going up and down and all around

I can't explain it
The trials and tribulations that we go through
But with our faith in God
There's nothing that we can't do

Whether we are rich or poor, black or white
Educated or underrated, successful or nonachiever
Life will be the same
But if we don't succeed

We'll be the ones to blame
Time waits for on one
And life passes us by each day
So make the best out of what you may

Don't be afraid to challenge yourself
Through your struggles
Many will see
Just how wonderful your journey in life shall be

THE POWER OF MONEY

It captivates the souls of many
Although it helps a lot it's not always friendly
Some go poor from it's use
Despite the reasons there's no excuse
It victimizes people in wanting more
Until they're walking through a prison door
The love of it can tear a family apart
Leaving each other with a broken heart
It's not worth the sadness and pain
When in the end
The power of money will be the one to blame

SECRETS IN A MARRIAGE

Secrets causes one to mistrust

The love doesn't feel the same anymore

Instead of feeling happy you feel lonely and sore

All you do is argue and fight

It lasts through the morning

And carries into the night

The smile has disappeared off my face

When I think about this marriage

I feel nothing but disgrace

in hopes that things would change

I stay looking to God's grace

Instead of looking for space

The love feels empty inside

Sometimes when I think about this marriage

I want to go away somewhere and hide

I don't know where our love will go

But deep inside my heart

I'm wishing that it would last

Hoping that the hurt

Could be left in the past

TRUE HAPPINESS

True happiness is all around
Despite it not always being found
To many it's in who you are
You should always make
Yourself feel like a star
People may let you down
But never keep a frown
True happiness may be what you make it
Knowing that when it comes to you
There's no faking it
Stay true to yourself
And in what true happiness is
It's everything that money and fame can't stand

HAPPILY MARRIED

Walking down the aisle with you
Was like a dream come through
I couldn't wait to be married
To a man so wonderful and true
I'm enjoying this new life together as one
Together our love will shine like the sun
Your love and mine
It sparkles and shines
Being husband and wife
Is glorious as can be
Our love will go on for many centuries
Happily married I hope to stay
The love that we have will grow each day
Despite what people may say
When it comes to our love
I'll never be so blind or mistrust
The love that is forever shared between us
